Obituary for Horace Glenn Pruett

Horace “Glenn” Pruett, age 81 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday. January 9, 2018. He was born February 12, 1936 in Hamilton County, Tennessee, the son of the late Howard Pruett and the late Stella Knight Pruett. He was a twenty-year veteran of the USAF; following his military service, he worked for Tanner Medical Center as a utility service coordinator. He served as manager, commander, and on several committees for the V.F.W. #7404 before being instrumental in establishing the AmVet #99 and served as the commander and manger for twenty years. He was an avid “Bama” fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Bryant Pruett and a brother, William Pruett. Survivors include his wife, Mary Grizzard Pruett, son, Mike Pruett of Carrollton; two grandchildren: Katie Pruett and Jessie Cobb, both of Carrollton. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jay Sutton and Chaplain Mark Grizzard officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by United States Air Force. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park, P. O. Box 1061, Carrollton, Georgia, 30112. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 Noon until the hour of service.
