Obituary for James "Skipper" Skipper

James “Skipper” Skipper, age 61 of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born April 13, 1956 in Marietta, Georgia, the son of the late Harvey Lee Skipper and Reba Louise Folds Skipper. He was a farmer and attended Lowell Congregational Holiness Church. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Skipper. He is survived by his wife, Donna Riggins Skipper; his children, Jimbo Vance Skipper of Roopville, James White Skipper (Brandi) of Lowell, Melanie Skipper of Lowell, Penny Morgan (Ben) of Ranburne, Jennifer White of Ranburne, and Amy Vance of Carrollton; sisters, Judy Driver of Carrollton, and Brenda Webb of Franklin; brothers, Curtis Skipper (Jean) of Clem, Alton Skipper of Carrollton, and Junior Skipper (Elaine) of Carrollton; eleven grandchildren, Kylee , Madalyn , and Ryder White, Rachel Morgan, Clay Morgan, Hunter Bishop, Hayley Bishop, Alexia Vance, Justin Vance, Ethan Vance, and Dakota Stewart; and one great grandchild, Khloe Grace Morgan. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Pete Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Lowell Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jimbo Vance Skipper, Clay Morgan, Mardis Smith, Darrell White, James White Skipper, Ben Morgan, Richard Folds, and Hunter Bishop. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
