Obituary for Jerry D. Strickland

Jerry D. Strickland, age 80 of Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He was born January 22, 1938, in Carroll County, Georgia, son of the late William Clyde Strickland and Hattie Bilbo Strickland. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserve and was a Deacon with The Church at Carrollton. He worked for Carrollton Office Equipment for more than 30 years and later worked for Carrollton Auto Color for more than 12 years. He was an avid antique enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Byron Strickland and Bobby Strickland. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pat Williams Strickland of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly S. and Gary Mason of Lancaster, S.C.; and one grandson, Will (Brittanie) Marks of Carrollton. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 5:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Greg Drake and Pastor Gary Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. In accordance with the deceased’s wishes, his body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Church at Carrollton, 2004 N. Hwy 113, Carrollton, GA 30117.
