Obituary for Jerry L. Heath

Jerry Heath CDR, USN RET, age 72 of Carrollton, passed away on June 12, 2018. He was born April 02, 1946 in Clem, Georgia, son of the late W. Lester Heath and Willie Bell Smith Heath. He was a Carrollton High School graduate and received a degree from University of Georgia in agriculture. He proudly served and retired from the United States Navy after having served for more than 23 years. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Kiwanis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Donald Heath. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Mitchell Heath of Woodland, AL; his children, Catherine Dressler of Covington, VA, and Joseph Heath and Amanda of Keokuk, IA; grandchildren, Rebecca, Mary and Nathan Dressler of Covington, VA, Brooklyn Lammers, Jo-Jo, Cody and Ethan Heath all of Keokuk, IA. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 15, 2018 at 1:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Howard, Thomas Lanning, Mitchell Smith, Matthew Caldwell, Tim Vines, and Dennis Bates. The U.S. Navy will perform military honors and the flag folding and presentation. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
