Obituary for Jewel Watson

Jewel Watson, age 96 of Bowdon, Georgia passed away April 14, 2017. She was born April 17, 1920 in Boise, Idaho to the late Mark Watson and Carrie Lula Pressley Watson. She was a talented and artistic woman who exemplified several intricate skills during her many years on this Earth. Miss Watson moved to Georgia from California in 1944. Being employed with the Pacific Phone Company she transferred to Southern Bell Telephone Co .. Some years later Miss Watson became employed with John Deere Plow Company for some 12 years as lead acountant. She worked in real estate for several years, but her interest was drawn to interior decorating at which time she attended the School of New York Interior Design and having received her degree she worked with many elite businesses in and around Atlanta. Miss Watson owned and operated "The Paper House" wallpaper store. In later years she left the fast pace of the city and moved to the quiter life in Carroll County. Staying busy with many veriest interest, including writing and enjoying here love of animals. Miss Watson was Christian Science by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers: Harry Watson, Louie Watson, and Earl Watson. Sister: Betty Watson Yancey. Survivors include: Marjorie (Winkie) Watson (Earl Watson's widow), of Pacific Grove, California, Nephews: David Watson and Partner Marco Ruiz, of Salinas, California, Paul Watson, Sharon and Grace, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert Watson of Santa Cruz, California. Nieces: Sunny Watson Kuegle, husband Jim, of San Rafael, California, Martha Watson Renard and husband Rick, of Salinas, California, Hershey Watson and partner Ed Mann, of Tacoma Washington, Linda Watson Harkness, of San Jose, California, Lyn Yancey Sellers and husband Gary, of Whitesburg, Georgia. Great nephews: Clint Watson and family of Ontario, Canada, Sean and family of San Diego, California,Leon and his family of Tacoma, Washington, James H. Ashley Sellers of Whitesburg, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1 :00 p.m. the memorial service will be at 1 :00 p.m. Memorial service will be conducted from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. n keeping with her wishes and request her body has been cremated. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
