Obituary for Lawrence Noble Randle

Lawrence Randle, a retired Mid-west Farmer, relocated to Carroll County in 2001 to begin a new season of his life. For several years, he lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Margo and Ron Shepherd on Woodland Camp Road near Temple as he made himself into a southern gentleman. His other daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Earl Hobson lived next door. For the first four years of this retirement, his main concern was the health and comfort of Earl. Mr. Lawrence’s son and daughter-in-law, David and Inga Randle reside on the family farm near Lebanon, Indiana. Grandchildren include Eric (Carla) Hobson of Franklin, Tennessee, Scott (Elaine) Hobson, and Seth Hobson all of Carroll County, Jon Randle, April Randle, and Marshall (Chalais) Randle of Indiana, Joy Senekant (Kyle) Gyger of Lebanon, Indiana was an adopted granddaughter. He enjoyed watching the development of each of his twelve great grandchildren.

Lawrence, born in 1915, enjoyed a long and contented life. His faith in his Lord and his involvement in the Church, his passion for improving the lives of others, and his love of words and travel were the basis of that satisfaction. In 2015, Lawrence moved to Brookdale, where he made another circle of friends. While residing at Brookdale, he soon drew the admiration of people who knew him as the man who wrote books, sent birthday cards, and an annual Christmas letter. There he also drew the attention of others, who loved his sense of style and his friendliness.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Frist Christian Church in Carrollton with the funeral service at 2:00 PM and a time of fellowship to follow for all family and friends. Louanne Hutcheson and the Praise Team of First Christian will provide the music. Minister Randy Barnhart will lead the worship, and Dr. David Eubanks will deliver the eulogy. Gifts to honor 102 years of life can be made to Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee in care of the Lawrence and Violet Randle Scholarship Fund, or to the Missions program of First Christian Church Carrollton, Georgia. A second service will follow in Indiana on Saturday, January 20, 2018 with interment in the family plot. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
