Obituary for Minnie "Marie" Mock Allen

Mrs. Minnie “Marie” Mock Allen, age 96 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on May 1, 2018 at her residence. She was born June 1, 1921 in Waycross, Georgia, the daughter of the late Joseph Arthur Mock and the late Mattie Estelle Stanley Mock. She was a switch board operator with Glidden Paint Company, retiring in 1986. She was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during WWII, as a switch board operator in Nebraska and a recruiter in Michigan. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Allen, Sr.;sister, Elizabeth Gunkle; and brothers, Joseph Mock, Edgar Mock, Malcolm Mock, Walter Mock and Stanley Stubbs. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Patti Allen of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Suzy & Steve Carolan of Carrollton, Georgia; three grandchildren, Hannah Marie (Jonathan) Dickens of Powder Springs, Georgia, Matthew Paul Allen of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kelli Michele Allen of Johnson City, Tennessee; and one great, grandchild, Grace Dickens. Graveside inurnment service will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:30 PM from Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia with Dr. Jimmy Gentry presiding. In keeping with the family’s wishes, the body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, family request that memorial contributions be made to Tanner Hospice.
