Obituary for Penny Mehaffey

Penny Marie Saczawa Mehaffey, age 54, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 4, 1962 in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph Leon Saczawa and the late Mary Ellen Wasdyke Saczawa. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Carrollton. In addition to her father, survivors include her son, Mitchell Eliot Mehaffey of Alexandria, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law: Patti & Kevin Gill of Carrollton, Georgia and Pam & Terry McGowen of Panama City, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Terry McGowen, Kevin Gill, Mitch Mehaffey, Jon McGowen, Brad Gill, and Hunter Johnson. Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Pacelli Catholic High School Scholarship Fund at www.beaviking.com/ Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
