Obituary for Ricky North

Ricky Carl North, age 62 of Carrollton, after a long battle with cancer, passed away Monday, August 07, 2017. He was born August 23, 1954 in Carrollton, Georgia to Montene Cowart Miller and the late William Carl North. He was a 1972 Central High graduate, former owner of Bruster’s Ice Cream, farmer for Goldkist Poultry for more than 20 years, and worked for Georgia Power for 15 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, AG South Farm Credit Union board member, and former president of Young Farmer Association. He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debby Brock North of Carrollton; his two children, Shara Sunshine North Yarbrough (Brent) of Carrollton, and Joshua Blake North, Sr of Carrollton; three sisters, Vickie Robinson of Bremen, Debbie Jones of Bremen, and BeCarla Treadwell of Carrollton; brother, Wendell North (Debra) of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Hattie-Carson Soul, Emma Yarbrough, Camp Yarbrough, Norah Yarbrough, Joshua Blake North, Jr; step-mother, Betty Mapp of Carrollton; two nieces and five nephews. Graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at 1:00 PM from Carroll Memory Gardens with Andrew Robinson, Darrell Robinson, Tony Hall, Ricky Brock, Randy Brock, and Travis Hall serving as pallbearers. Rev. John Lemmings and Mr. Alan Skaggs will officiate. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com.
