Obituary for William "Bill" Reuben Combs

William Reuben “Bill” Combs, age 66 of Whitesburg, passed away May 30, 2017. He was born August 01, 1950 in Rockmart, Georgia to the late Robert Hollis Combs and Evelyn Barber Combs. He proudly served in the United States Marine as a combat engineer and later worked for Shaw Industries. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, SP “Pat” Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Kay Patterson Combs of Whitesburg; son, Shane Combs of Whitesburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine Richards, Keith and Joy Harper, Ann and Clipper Henderson, and Kerry and Kim Patterson; mother-in-law, Hazel Patterson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Clipper Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church Cemetery on Banning Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5:00 PM from 8:00 PM.
