Biography

Mrs. Iris Muriel Hardee, age 81, of North side Drive, Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010. She was born July 18, 1928 in Chipley, Florida the daughter of the late Robert McKinley Alford and Ethel Belle Boyett Alford. Mrs. Hardee was a retired employee of AT & T. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Winford Kenneth Wade, Jr., and brother, Robert Earl Alford. Survivors include her children and spouses, Debra & Roger King of Rex, Ga., Pamela Wade of Dothan, AL., Joanne & Clayton Mitchell of Carrollton, Ga., Janice & Van Skelton of Dawsonville, Ga., and Gena Harris of Cartersville, Ga.; sister, Mary Alice Pepper of Houston, TX.; also 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 12 noon from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Dan Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 AM until the funeral hour. In accordance with the family’s wishes the body was cremated.
