Biography

Mr. Perry M. Bailey, Jr., age 82, of Pinkella Lane, Bowdon, Georgia passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1927 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Perry M. Bailey, Sr., and Amy Maybell Harris Bailey. Mr. Bailey retired from Southwire with 43 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife to whom he married November 10, 1951, Mattie Vaughns Bailey; son, Randall Kenneth Bailey; brother, Paul Bailey and 2 great grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Helen B. Lanier, Ricky June Bailey, Donny Lee Bailey, Susan White, Brian Kenneth Bailey and Brandi Moore all of Bowdon; brother, Hugh Lee Bailey of Bowdon and 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 4 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Roy Wysner and Rev. Randy King officiating. Dorsey Ivey, Ray Lanier, Steve White, Donny Bailey, Jr., Brian Bailey and Chris Bailey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Bailey and Levi Watts. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 PM until 8 PM.
