Edward Patrick Heuer
March 17, 1921 - July 11, 2010
Mr. Edward P “Hoppy” Heuer, 89 of 75 West Lake Rd, Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2010. Mr. Heuer was born March 17, 1921, in Baltimore Maryland; besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William John Heuer and wife, Rilla Dean King Heuer; Mr. Heuer served in the Army and was honorably discharged December 1945, after being injured twice in Anzio, Italy in 1944 and receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze and Silver Star. Mr. Heuer married Rilla Dean King in 1945, and raised their four sons and resided in Waco for nearly 50 years. He loved playing music and joined his friends entertaining the public since early childhood. Mr. Heuer retired from Tallatoona EOA and assisted a great number of people in becoming homeowners—of which was one of his proudest accomplishments. His beloved Dean was called home to be with the Lord on March 14, 1993, and he married Ruby Maxwel Edge in 1994 and moved to Carrollton, where they resided until his death. He is a member of North Point Baptist Church and a member of Bremen Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ruby Heuer, six sons and wives, Pat and Gail Heuer, of Ranburne, Alabama, Chris and Donna Heuer, of Carrollton, Terry and Rhonda Heuer, of Buchanan, and Eddie Heuer, of Waco; Tim and Shannon Maxwell, of Stockbridge, Mike and Kimberly Maxwell of Carrollton, and daughter and son in law Leeann and Danny Musick, of Carrollton; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted at Martin and Hightower funeral home in Carrollton on July 13, at 11 am with son, Rev. Pat Heuer officiating; Rev. Buddy Gentry and Cody Lee provided music. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: grandsons: Tim Heuer, Johnny Heuer, Deric Jiles, Ben Heuer, and Kenneth Stair, son Tim Maxwell and Doyle King, Jr. Military and Masonic honors were observed and interment followed at Waco Baptist Church Cemetery.
