Biography

Mr. Charles Lee Boykin, age 72, of Hillside Court, Carrollton, Ga., passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010. He was born November 19, 1937 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Charlie Boykin and Corine Hall Boykin. Mr. Boykin served in the United States Navy and later retired from Goldkist with more than 20 years of service. After retirement he loved gardening, working with his hands and was freehearted and loved helping others. Mr. Boykin had many friends and never met a stranger. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Irene Reid Boykin to whom he was married for 48 years; daughters, Diane Boykin and Lynn Snoddy; son and daughter in law, Jerry & Beth Boykin; sisters, Charlie Mae Parham and Margaret Neal; sister in law, Mary Ann Boykin; brother and sister in law, Willie & Evelyn Boykin; grandchildren, Lee Wyatt, Kevin Wyatt, Jarod Wyatt, Lakiesha Snoody, Bernard Snoody, Broderick Snoddy, Dami-Anne Boykin, Danielle Boykin and Raven Boykin; also 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 26, 2010 at 1 PM from Bethlehem Temple Church of a New Beginning. The body will be placed in the church at noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 PM until 8 PM.
