Biography

Mary Jo Callahan, age 57, of Harriett Lane, Whitesburg, Ga., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010. She was born July 27, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late William Grady Bagby and Eunice Viola Lanning Bagby. Mary was homemaker and loving caregiver to her family and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shaharlie Timber Callahan; brother, Jerry Bagby; sisters, Alice Cushing, Viola Hannah, Janice Paden and Betty Arnold. Survivors include her husband, Buddy D. Callahan, Sr.; children, Melody Brookshire, Ken & Debbie Callahan, Buddy Callahan, Jr., Dwight Callahan all of Whitesburg, Marie Lanning of Jasper, Christy Fisher, April Fisher, Jennifer Richardson all of Whitesburg and Mikel Callahan of Douglasville; brother, Charles Bagby of Whitesburg; also 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 2 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Bro. Frank Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Hannah, Charles Hannah, John Hannah, Nick Ford, Kenneth Callahan and Michael Bearden. Interment will follow in Whitesburg City Cemetery.
