Obituary for Jimmy Nelson Kidd

Jimmy Nelson Kidd of Roopville, Georgia passed away on September 13, 2018 at the age of 58. He was born September 2, 1960, the baby boy of Nelson and Dorothy Kidd of Roopville. He was a lifelong resident of Roopville, Georgia, a graduate of Central High School and was Christian by faith. As a young man he worked at the local dairy, and in later years, worked as a custodian for Carroll County Schools and later retired from Southwire Company. His favorite job was his fruit stand at Highway 5 and 27 in Roopville, Georgia. There, he met many customers and friends. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Nelson Huff Kidd. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Howard Kidd; wife of 19 years, Julia Ann Kidd; children and spouses, Chris and Jana Kidd, Cameron Crosby and Jessica Westhead, and Chase and Angelica Crosby; grandchildren, CJ Kidd, Hunter Kidd, and Camden Max Crosby; sister and brother-in-law, Trudy and Wayne Perry; and several nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by many and especially by his fur babies, Oscar, Koda, and Sasha. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 am from Roopville Baptist Church, 18 Old Franklin Street, Roopville, GA 30170 with his cousin, Reverend Ken Jackson officiating. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
