Obituary for Joseph Anthony Gentry

Mr. Joseph Anthony Gentry, age 68 of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1950 in Carroll County, Georgia, the son of the late Kermit Monroe “Pete” Gentry and the late Doris Boatright Gentry. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School and had worked over twenty years in construction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Waller Gentry; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Gary and Kathryn Gentry and Wanda Gentry. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law: J. J. & Faye Gentry and Jebediah Gentry, all of Carrollton; sisters and brothers-in-law: Judy & Ronald Holcomb, Delores & Barry Hayes, and Joyce & Barry Kelsheimer; brothers and sister-in-law: Jimmy Gentry and David & Bonnie Gentry; two grandchildren: Angela Gentry and A. J. Gentry; along with multiple nieces and nephews. In keeping with the family’s wishes, the body will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service has been planned for February 9, 2019 at Mill Town Music Hall, 1031 Alabama Avenue South, Bremen, Georgia, 30110. A pot luck lunch will begin at 11:00 AM and the memorial service will follow. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
