Obituary for Wilburn George Goolsby

Wilburn George Goolsby, age 78 of Carrollton, passed away September 13, 2017. He was born September 28, 1938 in Carrollton, Georgia, son of the late George G. Goolsby and Zell Robinson. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He retired as a senior machinist from Southwire after 42 years of service. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, George Gregory Goolsby; and a brother, George Glenn Goolsby. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ann Paden Goolsby of Carrollton; daughter, Amy Leanne Goolsby of Carrollton; sisters, Debbie Able (Mike) of Lagrange, and Donna Taunton of Lagrange; and brother, Dennis Cannon. Graveside service with inurnment will be conducted Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sam Braswell officiating. In keeping with the family’s wishes, his body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund at 1610 Pleasant Ridge Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30117. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
